Exercise Your Way to a Healthy You!

When Plato uttered these words he was talking about a time was to come I guess! However the exact nature of the exercise and healthy body is still under the wraps, but one could definitely conclude that exercise causes a momentary surge in the immune system activity, increasing the numbers of white blood cells and immunoglobulin in the blood, which acts to reduce a person's susceptibility to diseases. Growing inactivity has claimed many lives and it still continues like the latest fad! But what’s the hullabaloo around the lack of physical activity! Many of our new age lifestyle diseases seem to be feeding off this grass!

Consider joining any recreational sport that suits you and you can combine some fun time with the workout! However, it is advised to keep your activity moderate as possible so as to avoid exertion or injury!

Hit the Gym!
Going to the gym on a weekly basis can significantly improve your immune system. Cells that promote one’s immunity circulate through our bodies rapidly and are capable of killing both viruses and bacteria. However after exercising, the body does return to normal within a few hours, but a regular exercise routine appears to extend periods of immunity. This isn’t without the statutory warning that heavy and excessive workout might wear your frail self and can do more harm than good. Hence it is advised to create a balance and on your rest days get plenty of sleep and fluids.

Lastly, if all this ain’t fun to you, chances are you might not continue. The goal is to keep your body active in the ways you find fun. The key is to keep your exercise program simple and enjoyable. Exercise and relaxation techniques are great ways to relieve stress. Reducing stress is an important part of getting well and staying well.

So here are some things to motivate you to stick to your exercise program!

  • However, the focus should also be on having fun.
