Laser Surgery
Laser beams are used to burn away abnormal or cancerous cells, which is referred to as Laser Ablation. It achieves high precision by focusing on a small area and causing less damage to the surrounding tissue. They can be used alone or in conjunction with other treatments such as surgery, chemotherapy, or radiotherapy.
What Exactly Is Laser Treatment?
A laser is a thin, focused beam of light that heats the tissue to which it is directed. Lasers have the ability to focus on very small areas with extreme precision.
Laser beams can be used by doctors to burn away abnormal or cancerous cells. This is known as laser ablation, and it can:
- Annihilate small areas of precancerous cells
- Tumors can be shrunk or destroyed.
- Some cancer symptoms, such as bleeding or blockage, can be alleviated
- During surgery, surgeons can also use lasers instead of scalpels.
Lasers have the ability to precisely cut through body tissue. The use of a laser has the advantage of sealing off the blood vessels as it cuts, resulting in very little bleeding.
Laser therapy may be used by doctors on its own. However, it may be used in conjunction with other treatments such as surgery, chemotherapy, or radiotherapy.
Laser surgery may be used to treat non-small cell lung cancer in its early stages. Dr Donald Babu at P53 Cancer Clinic gives the best laser treatment.
